Hilton Tokyo Hotel opened on June 20, 1963 as the first international chain hotel in Japan before the 1964 Tokyo Olympics Games. After 20 years under Hilton management, the hotel became the Capitol Hotel Tokyu on January 1, 1984. On November 30, 2006, the hotel closed its doors for demolition to be replaced by the Tokyu Capitol Tower complex. The new office hotel complex was completed in August 2010 with the new Capitol Hotel Tokyu open for business on October 22, 2010.
