In 1979, Hilton Lake Placid was built at the corner of Saranac and Main and housed the ABC Sports headquarters for the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. In 2008, the resort was renamed High Peaks Resort with a new address 2384 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid NY 12946-1105, but the phone number remained the same.
