The 26-story 750-room Hong Kong Hilton opened in June 1963 and was the first 5-Star hotel on Hong Kong island.  The hotel operated for more than 30 years until the end of April 1995.  The building was then demolished and the site redeveloped for the new skyscraper Cheung Kong Center which was completed in 1999.
