After operating for 17 years, the hotel was renamed the Esteghlal Hotel in 1979 after the Iranian Revolution. Today it is known as the
Parsian Esteghlal International Hotel.
To commemorate the opening of the Royal Tehran Hotel, Iran Post issued a set of two commemorative stamps with denominations: 6 Rials and 14 Rials on January 21, 1963. Scott #1234-1235.
