A HILTON HOTEL POST CARD

Hotel Statler on Delaware Avenue completed in 1923 was Ellsworth Statler's second hotel in Buffalo.  His first hotel located at Swan and Washington Streets opened in 1908 and was renamed Hotel Buffalo when his new hotel at Niagara Square opened.

Conrad Hilton purchased the Statler Hotel Company in 1954 and the hotel was rebranded as the Statler Hilton. In 1973 the property was sold to a group of local investors.  The hotel closed in 1984 and renamed Statler Towers. The 18-story downtown building has since changed hands a few times and is now being redeveloped into a mixed use residential, retail and entertainment project known as the Statler City.
